Warcraft Movie | Matte Painting

A Digimatte Concept I had the chance to create for the Warcraft Film's initial Comicon Trailer. The mediums involved were a mixture of Plate Photography from the Trona Pinnacle area in Mojave Desert California, some ZBrushed terrains and mesas and a good amount of paintover work... Super fun. A good challenge was to create a 180 wide coverage with consistent lighting. I ended-up using the sketch as an environment map to light some of the ZBrush mesas... If I remember correctly, some of the terrain geometry was created by Fabio Zungrone & Anthony Efthekari, two other Matte Painting veteran over at Blizzard Cinematics.
